Once

Once.

Once there was a story,
a fine and noble story
such as had been told at table
in the days
of old.

Once there was a bard.
Once there was a magician,
and his apprentice.

Once a goddess chased a man
for the cost in hide
of a taste of
salmon.

Once upon a time.

A time, once upon. Upon time, once a.
Yes. Dada is. Abstraction isn't,
except for very large
values of
the number
in question.

Was it poetry
or math
that made
Sappho
so very
objectionable?
